Children begin to recognise and explore emotions from an early age. As they begin to discover and foster the emerging emotions and behaviours, most commonly through play, learning difficulties and social/emotional challenges may be highlighted.
Our clinicians use a variety of age-appropriate therapy modalities to connect and engage children in a play therapy learning environment. Parents/Carers and important people in children’s lives are included in the process to create a holistic approach.
At Delicate Minds, you will be working with a therapist to collaboratively develop age-appropriate learning skills and strategies to manage common childhood concerns, changes and adversities your child may be experiencing.
Including –
- Transition to school difficulties and/or school refusal
- Social skill development

Being a teen can be both exciting and difficult at times. Physical and emotional challenges are faced as you grow into early adulthood and some of the challenges can effect your mental health. Life is like a roller coaster, and we experience emotional ups and downs which are a normal part of growing up but can sometimes leave you feeling unbalanced. The good news is, you can learn to identify behaviours, create new thought patterns and regulate your emotions so you can successfully find your balance and create happiness and joy in your life.
To help you navigate your way through to achieving balance, our clinicians use a range of evidence based practices and modalities, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Client-Centred Therapy, Narrative Therapy and a range of Emotional Regulation tools to encourage growth in areas of social skill development, resilience, affect regulation, managing stress and symptoms of anxiety and depression, peer relational issues, transition difficulties and challenges relating to an ASD diagnosis.
